Personal care

Our skin is an extremely sensitive and delicate part of the body. It is our defence system against aggression by external agents, but also the mirror of our inner wellness. It therefore needs careful and attentive daily care so it can function properly and maintain its correct balance.

Here are some tips on how to keep your skin healthy:

  • Limit or avoid using cleansers that contain aggressive ingredients which dry the skin and alter its natural acidity level (pH), such as alcohol or colourings;
  • Avoid excessively long and hot baths to prevent the harsh effect of hot water on the delicate skin structure; take warm baths using a mild cleanser which relieves the skin and helps it restore its normal level of hydration. Always gently pat your skin using a soft towel every time you wash it.
  • Use a moisturising and softening cream every day, intensifying the application in the zones which are at greater risk of dehydration. An additional tip is to drink at least 1.5 litres of water a day to guarantee sufficient hydration of the skin.
  • Choose cotton or linen garments over those made from synthetic fibres as the latter do not allow the skin to perspire and therefore create a hot-humid environment conducive to the absorption of substances that create intolerance;
  • Avoid dusty environments or contact with objects that retain dust;
  • Utilizzare un umidificatore nell’ambiente in cui si dorme. La presenza di termosifoni, aria condizionata e ventilatori può favorire infatti l’insorgere di secchezza cutanea;
  • Use a humidifier in night zone environments. The presence of radiators, air conditioners and fans can cause dry skin.

It is highly recommended to use moisturisers with UV ray filters and a protection factor that is suitable for your skin type.

It is also important to choose personal hygiene products that are delicate and hypoallergenic and, given the increase in nickel-caused dermatitis, ones that have undergone tests to guarantee their safety on skins that are intolerant to this metal.

The whole range of Dermaplus products undergoes tests to guarantee the safety of every single item. Dermaplus is, in fact, a dermatologically tested nickel-free cosmetic aid line which is safe for use on all skin types.
